  • Leather & Leopard

What’s leather, leopard and striped all over? Me – this past weekend!

And that’s all the witty banter I have for you (for now).

The jacket is literally an old man’s vintage bomber jacket I got a thrift shop (cause shit it was 99 cents!). The striped blouse is from Forever21 (plus size here), pants are my favorite skinnies from GAP. My booties are c/o Aldo and have become a fall/winter staple for me. The faux-ostrich bag is a wonderful item that Rehka of Outrage Fashion sent over to me – and I’m completely in love with it! The scarf is an old favorite I picked up in London years ago, and the hair is all mine. That’s right ladies – real Natasha hair.

A Notes about Moving Skirts from Summer to Fall

I’d like to take moment to chat about bringing skirts into Fall. I was having a conversation with a (very fashionable) coworker of mine, about how strange it felt/looked to throw on skirts & tights – and how when we got dressed in the morning, we’d always end up changing back into pants. We discussed having an anything-but-pants day during the week to force ourselves to get out of the habit. It’s just when you’ve got bare-legged in skirts all summer, then start pairing them with dark tights – the contrast in style seems a bit uncomfortable (especially if the skirt isn’t a dark color). So with this post – it starts. Skirts with tights. Get ready for it. I’ll be trying to make this Fall my most skirt-lined-season ever.

    What I’m Wearing

I’m not sure what I should call the highlight of this outfit – every piece is my favorite. The statement necklace was a birthday gift from my sister – it’s the J.Crew Archipelago necklace (sold out, but similar here) – and the colors in the necklace inspired me to stick to strictly black & white for the rest of my outfit. My top is an amazing thrift shop find (Hey Macklemore, can we go thrift shopping? Yup, yup, yup, yup) and I call it my typewriter button-down, because it’s got random letters along with faded black stripes. The skirt is courtesy of SimplyBe – it’s a faux leather skirt with a perfectly placed pleat to add only the flattering curves to your figure (and hide away the others…).

  • The Couch Coat for Fall

    Hey there good lookin’.

Well the sun may still be out here in Seattle, but fall has arrived. The colors of the leaves are slowly changing to yellows and reds, and the temperature is getting quite chilly – chilly enough to break out your favorite fall coat! So I had to break out my couch coat, as my friend calls these coats – for all we know, there’s a factory that turns old couches from the 60s into stylish new mod fall coats! This mustard yellow plaid + burgundy + black + brown outfit makes me look like a walking autumn tree – and I’m totally into that, so it’s OK.

Fall is my favorite season for fashion, and being a blogger, I get to share some of the looks I put together with you. And get ready for tons of pics in this post – my friend at FlashShots Photag. did such an amazing job I couldn’t narrow it down to just a couple (plus don’t we all want to see this couch coat from every possible angle?).

What I’m Wearing: I’m rocking my favorite oxblood lipstain from YSL (it’s the most amazing lipstain gloss I’ve ever used) – and this will probably end up being my statement lip color for fall this year (hope you like it, get ready to see it a lot). The coat is vintage (but this one from Anthro is amazing. My top is from Forever21 (another great blouse here), the bag is gifted from my good friend Heather’s trip to NYFW & the boots are Steve Madden (similar here). The wonderful printed scarf is something I picked up in Italy back in 2008, and it’s still my favorite fall accessory.

  • Seattle, Je T’aime

    Oh silly me.

While so many of my fashion blogging friends (follow @JessEstrada, @MollieInSeattle and @lHeatherMH for updates!) are heading to NYFW and IFB this week in the amazing New York City – I thought a summer night in downtown Seattle would be the perfect location for my next street-style-esque outfit post. And no – I won’t be in NYC for the festivities this year, but I’ll be watching closely and sharing lots and lots of opinions on collections and more via my Twitter profile.

Now let’s chat clothes. This amazing Je’Taime sweater (from ASOS curve) is my new, favorite piece for fall. I’m so excited for fall that I’m already filling up my closet with knits, loose and comfy tops…so hopefully fall weather starts to kick in come October! The envelope clutch is one of my favorite H&M finds from last year (also seen in this outfit post), and the silver vamp shoes are from ASOS (also wore them here). The necklace is vintage YSL (and I’m totally obsessed).

The amazing photos were taken by my good friend & photographer Chelle Ticeson.

  • Evergreen and Black

Seattle summer can be quite bipolar. Sometimes it’s sunny and hot, sometimes it’s cloudy and muggy, and other times (like last week) it’s all three plus rain, lighting and thunder. So on a more cloudy but hot day – what are you supposed to wear? Well duh – a summer dress with a fall sweater, right? Well, who cares if I’m “in season” in this post – this outfit was perfect for the day, and quite comfy too.

Let’s talk merchandise. My red lipstick is YSL (one of my favorites), earrings are vintage Givenchy, the dress is from J. Crew (but I like this plus-size and this straight size dress), the sweater is Free People (got it on sale last year – but this comfy oversized one is fab). My booties are Nine West, and raffia purse is vintage (no idea on the brand).

Oh – and random obsession moment. Can we talk about this Peplum Blazer (straight size, plus-size) from ASOS?! I’m totally in love. Probably going to have to cave and buy it (though everyone knows I do NOT need any more blazers!).
