    I’ve been eyeing this J.Crew chambray baseball cap for a while. But after months of flipping through Madewell catalogues and seeing countless pins of girls looking chic-as-ever in their it’s whatever hats, it was too much to take – so I took the plunge and joined the team.

    Being a member of team cool-girl is pretty sweet. I get to show up wearing leggings, t-shirts and baseball caps and still get to call myself stylish. I’ve even gone up a level in my quest for it’s whatever style – I’m now on the hunt for the perfect pair of wear-out-pajama pants. Cause pajama pants are legit cool-girl shit now. If that’s not incentive enough to hop on this relaxed-trend bandwagon, I don’t know what is.

    So go buy up all the linen tees, all the sweat pants, all the birks, all the slouchy, relaxed-fit, soft-texture stuff you can get. Before it’s too late and pants suits make their grand comeback. Hurry – but don’t appear too frantic. That’s so not normcore.

  • 11 Small Changes That Had BIG Impacts on my Health

    They say it’s small things that count – and apparently they are correct. These little changes have had a huge impact on my life: I no longer feel tired during the day, I no longer have chronic stomach aches, I’ve kept off the weight I’ve lost and I continue to lose both weight and inches. Obviously living a healthy lifestyle goes beyond a list of tips and habits – but these are all things I’ve learned and built slowly that have really changed who I am and how I live.

    So why keep it a secret any longer?! Here is a short & sweet list of the small but significant habits and things I’ve learned while on my journey to better health and fitness.

    1. Superfood smoothie every morning.

    My morning smoothie is the same – every single day. As a previously sporadic breakfast eater – building this habit has been instrumental for my healthy lifestyle. My smoothie recipe, you ask? I blend up frozen berries + fresh kale + coconut water + chia seeds + green superfood powder + whey protein.   • Cool Girls – The Summer 8

    It’s cool to be cool again…just in time for summer. Pictures of these ‘cool girls’ have been littering my Pinterest and Tumblr feeds – with their messy hair, ratty shorts and perfectly slouchy tees. But, I kinda like it. The idea of an easy, light and simple summer wardrobe means you can invest in a few basics and then accessorize the rest with cheap jewels and flea-market finds.

    I’ve been slowly but surely building my “cool girl” summer closet, it’s the best thing I’ve done for my wardrobe since investing in a pair of leather booties last fall. But I wouldn’t want to leave you high-and-dry, no, I want to share with you the secret to achieving that it’s-whatever-I-just-woke-up-and-threw-this-on-but-I-look-like-Parisian-chic-but-mixed-with-NYC-hipness look.

    Hello there!

    Today I wanted to introduce a new category for content here on The Chic Curve: Health & Fitness. I have been contemplating whether or not to add this, since historically the blog has really only focused on style and beauty. But as my blog continues to grow – so do I, as a person, editor and author – and this expansion will allow me to give a fuller view of who I am and what I’m passionate about.

    So, here it is. It’s also in the navigation on the right rail. I’ll be adding posts monthly, doing a series on my personal journey with health and fitness, including a 45 pound weight loss story (my own). I hope that you are as excited as I am – and I want everyone to know that this addition doesn’t mean I’ll be straying away from my usual sassy style banter and outfits posts – it just means MORE content! And as always – please share your thoughts and opinions with me in the comments. I want to hear about your health and fitness journeys as well – even if they include gagging/swishing coconut oil in your mouth or falling in the middle of your first 3-mile run (which I’ve done, many times).

    To kick things off – I want to share with you my go-to list of health and fitness related resources! One of the hardest things about starting my journey to health was trying to understand where to get good information – and what to believe.
