  • I Went Dark

ombre hair dark collar bone length seattle

I’ve had ombre hair for a couple years now. It’s been fun. Flipping my hair around, feeling like that tan, Cali girl who somehow ended up in cloudy Seattle. But, I will always return to my roots: dark hair. And in this case, I went even darker.

I paired the solid dark color with a collar-bone length cut (which apparently looks good on everyone). I’m in love with the deep color – it’s rich and my hair is bouncy and shiny again (until I ruin it and get back to the salon for them to fix…hehe). Normally, I go to Gene Juarez to get my color/cuts done – but this time I ventured to a new salon in Seattle. Robert Leonard Salon & Spa did an incredible job – and I fell in love with both my colorist and stylist. Eric Weir did the color – and I was so impressed with the results seeing as it was a drastic change. Then, Tyson Rogers did the cut. What a joy Tyson was – he’s one of those perfectly enjoyable people who can chat Beyonce, cut your hair and look fabulous all at the same time. I highly recommend both of these talented men if you are looking for a hair update.

Enough talk. Here’s more hair pictures. And if you are thinking about getting a mane-change, definitely consider checking out the RL Salon.

Hair color and cut was courtesy of Robert Leonard Salon. My comments about the salon are my honest opinions.

  • Typical Seattle April

seattle fashion blog outfit flannel leather bomber 1

Outfit Details: Booties, Seychelles | Orange Socks, GAP | Leggings, GAP Body | Flannel, Urban Outfitters | Clutch, All Saints | Bomber Jacket, F21 | Scarf, F21

April comes around every year, promising Spring, which I keep thinking means sun, puffy white clouds and perfect hiking weather. Nope. It’s like every year I have amnesia – because April in Seattle is ALWAYS full of rain. Showers, sprinklings, pouring, even hail…if it’s wet and it falls from the sky it’s going to happen in April. So my advice if you are ever planning to visit the beautiful city of Seattle: Don’t come in April! Sunny days are right around the corner…

…but until then, I’ll be carrying around my umbrella. Many Seattleites say you tell somebody is a tourist if they are carrying an umbrella, because no true Seattle local would ever waste their strength carrying the silly thing. No – locals are hardcore, Northface-shell-wearing rain lovers who tromp through puddles in REI hiking boots and aren’t bothered by sopping wet jeans. They wouldn’t dare be caught dead standing under the portable shelter.

Well, let me play the role of myth-buster for you. LOTS of Seattleites carry umbrellas. Why? Because we don’t always want to wear raincoats! Sometimes, we want to wear a little bomber jacket with faux leather sleeves instead…

  • 12th (wo)Man

    seattle seahawks fashion 12th woman

In case you didn’t already know…the Superbowl is on Sunday. And I’m incredibly proud to say my hometown team, the Seattle Seahawks, will be playing on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

If you’ve followed me via Instagram…you already know that I’ve been pretty hyped up on Hawks pride lately. So I thought…why not devote the last and most important #BlueFriday of the season on my blog to the 12th man. You can also watch this video which is the live reaction when the Seahawks won their last playoff game (it’s me, and my friends, screaming like crazies, FYI).

Quick outfit breakdown: Jean Jacket, Vintage | Red Plaid Scarf, H&M | 12th Man Tee, Seahawks Pro Shop | Printed skinnies, GAP | Booties, H&M.

All photos taken by Chelle Ticeson.

    GO HAWKS!

  • Summer Wedding Fashion Duo

summer wedding outfit ideas for girls and guys

Oh Summer. You bring so much – sunshine, dresses, ice cream, and the reminder that I am not married, engaged or even close to shacking up with my dream man. Regardless of that thought…I actually love summer weddings. I’m a sucker for fruity cocktails, floral headdresses and outside dance parties. In fact it’s time for a confession: I love weddings. I even have a secret Pinterest board dedicated to tying the knot. But you’ll never see it. And many of you won’t even read this…because you just like to look at the pretty pictures…so my secret may never get out.

And the wedding I attended was a beautiful one – one of those times where you can just feel how much love two people have for one another. Genuine love and hope for their future together. It was not only an adorable wedding, but a wonderful reminder that true love really does exist and sometimes stopping for a moment in time to appreciate it with friends and family can bring some light into your heart.

Ok…enough of my mushy lovey-dovey-wovey talk. Let’s chat fashion.

My original plan was to take all kinds of outfit photos – close ups of my hair, my jewels, my shoes…but the wedding was so much fun I completely forgot. So I have for you…one outfit photo. Thank me later.

And BONUS! I snapped a picture of my good friend Jordan’s outfit, because he looked very suave and hip in his manfit. You go Jordan – get your man fashion on.

So there you have it – a guy and gal summer wedding fashion duo.
