Simple Summer

In case you haven’t noticed – or you live in Antarctica – it’s HOT. In fact, it’s really just too hot for clothes (90 degrees in Seattle is like 120 anywhere else) – but we have to wear clothes, otherwise people look at you funny. Also I’m a fashion blogger, so clothes are sort of a requirement (even when I’m sweating profusely while a friend takes my outfit shots under the blazing sun).

Well enough first world problems. Let’s chat clothes. This dress was a STEAL from Gap (on sale, similar straight size here, similar plus size here) – and it’s lightweight fabric and adorable pink neckline trim makes it the perfect summer go to (plus, the drawstring waist is a big-time-bonus to define curvy or hourglass figures). The jean jacket is a vintage Levis find I picked up at a local thrift shop (cute vintagey one here). Jewels are vintage, Marrin Costello (c/o, purchase here). Shoes are J.Crew (last year, but they just released an updated version of the same wedge here).

Short and sweet – just like your skirts & shorts should be in this weather. Stay cool, my friends, stay cool.

I bought almost the exact same shoes from Aldo last week :) I love the whole outfit. So cute

Cute outfit! I like the dress!

  3. Lovely look and a great way to beat the heat. I’m not used to 90 so I need all the hot-weather tips I can get. And I agree, clothing non-optional 😛
