  • Personal Reflections of 2011 from the Author

Let’s pretend you are me for a second. You wake up every morning and a million thoughts rush to the front of your mind – clients, marketing ideas, work, fashion thoughts, to-do lists, outfit choices and more. You get up, shower, get dressed in an outfit that will hopefully be worthy of posting on your fashion blog, and head to R2integrated, the marketing agency where you work as the Social Marketing Manager. You enjoy your work and your coworkers, and come evening you head home, get on your computer to write & read blogs, make dinner, go for a walk, and head to bed.

Alright – now you are are you again. That’s my normal routine. And we all have one – but it is those days where we do something out of the ordinary that makes life so amazing. And 2011 has been sprinkled with so many of these extraordinary experiences and amazing people – I am forever grateful. Every crazy night out with my insanely fun friends, dinners with family, serious conversation with those closest to me, dancing, laughing, singing, writing – living. Life is a roller coaster and I love the ride.

This year, I’ll be ringing in the New Year with old friends – the perfect combination of new & old. Freshly painted nails, new heels, red lips, vodka soaked gummy bears, champaign and friends who are more like family will surround me as we bring in 2012.

One last thing – THANK YOU.

Every single person who has read a blog post, commented, shared, liked, reposted and just enjoyed what I publish. You all are the reason for The Chic Curve’s success in 2011, and will continue to be the factor in growth & excitement for the blog come 2012.

Tell me what you want to see more of – what you want to see less of – what you absolutely hated and never want to see again. This blog is as much my own as it is yours.

Thank you. Happy New Year – I hope you get to spend tonight with the ones you love.

    xoxo

  • Holidaze Poncho & Kimono

I hope everybody had an absolutely wonderful holiday. You all now have officially 1 week to find something stunning to wear for NYE 2011!

Let’s chat clothes for a minute. I bought the kimono-esque open cardigan at H&M, and I fell in love with it. Even though some may think it looks like a robe and it shouldn’t leave the walls of my apartment – it doesn’t matter because it is sexy & stylish. I’m definitely going to wear this again, possible with a belt & sequin pencil skirt (and higher, sexy heels) for a night-out look. The poncho coat (below) is from Nordstrom, it is a fun and different looking jacket for fall/winter, though the sleeves are cut shorter so it doesn’t really work for keeping my wrists warm in colder weather :)

Also, about the stylized photos – I felt like trying something different, especially after seeing The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and all the older looking photos from the 50s inspired me.

Enjoy the last week of 2011 & get your resolutions in order! If you really want to achieve your goals for 2012 & stick to them, check out Pursuit.me where you can set goals & track your achievements (thanks to @JakeMiller206 for finding this great tool)!

  • Happy Holidays from The Chic Curve

    To My Beloved Readers,

As I sit at my home office on Christmas Eve, listening to cheesy Christmas music and organizing my blog calendar for next week, I really have to just stop in awe of life, for just moment.

Everyone knows the holidays are about family, love, laughing and giving, but the holidays are also a time to just pause, even for just a short moment, and think about the amazing year that has passed since last Christmas. Thanks to you, my blog traffic has grown immensely, and The Chic Curve has become a notable blog in both the Seattle blog-o-sphere as well as in the fashion blogger world. And I truly have nobody to thank other than my readers.

So I know this is a cheesy post, and I promise I’ll get back to my silly, sarcastic antics soon, but for now, let me say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from The Chic Curve, and thank you for reading, commenting, supporting & sharing my blog.

Take this holiday season to tell someone you care about how much you love them. We never know what tomorrow will or won’t bring, so remember your loved ones, stay humble & keep smiling.

    xoxo

    Natasha Jarmick

    Merry Christmas :)
