  • Faux Fur Feeling

Here I go again…with that funny faux fur feeling. And when I read the title of this blog post, I think of that song by Flo Rida, “Good Feeling,” but sing the lyrics like this: “Oh ohhhh sometimes, I get a faux fur feeling, oh yea.”

…you are welcome for that random tid bit. I hope everyone’s Mondays are going wonderfully. This week is very busy for me both at work & socially.

Let’s talk about the clothes (finally). I tried to resist the whole shopping craziness this weekend…but I caved and bought this great faux fur coat – which seriously feels like heaven. It’s probably what P. Diddy felt like when he was touching the furry wall. So today, I am the furry wall. Yes, you can quote me on that.

The coat is from Nordstrom Rack, the top is from Nordstrom. Booties are from H&M, trousers from Macy’s, bracelets from Nordstrom and H&M, earrings are vintage. Lipstick is my favorite YSL red ($30 a tube but worth it – best lipstick EVER). The orange/pink clutch is from a shop in Dublin, Ireland that I snagged for $7 while traveling last summer.

How are you getting your faux fur fix on? Do you have a wrap, collar, coat or all three?

  • ShoeMint: Exclusive Launch Photos

I wanted to do a very quick post about ShoeMint, a new service from the makers of JewelMint about to launch!

ShoeMint is a service where you pay one monthly fee & get to pick a pair of shoes. Many people have heard of ShoeDazzle, which is the same idea – however, ShoeDazzle shoes just don’t live up to the hype – they look cheap and often trashy (ya know, those shoes you see girls like Deena from Jersey Shore in tube dresses hobbling around in at the club).

So when I heard that Rachel Bilson AND Steve Madden were partnering to create ShoeMint I was ECSTATIC because the taste of those to combined is incredible. And after watching the exclusive preview of ShoeMint via InStyle – my prediction was true.

ShoeMint is launching soon, but you can go sign up now (just provide your email, that’s it) and invite your friends to join, and earn credit towards a pair of shoes once it launches. I’ve already earned $40 off my first pair (I believe they will be priced around $60-80 dollars a pair) by inviting some friends via Twitter.

Check out these stills from the video in InStyle, and hopefully everyone is just as excited as me for ShoeMint!!!

    I WANT these loafers...

  • What the Faux?!

You like that face of intensity, don't ya?

It’s freaking cold outside. Winter snuck up and attacked my toes and ankles, as I was walking around downtown Seattle in flats & cropped skinny slacks. I had to step up my warm-fashion game, or freeze my tush off. So I brought out the faux fur sweater-poncho-blanket thing that I snagged during the annual Nordstrom sale a few months back.

I paired this furry cozy thing with simple sheer black blouse from H&M, thick yoga leggings & my favorite little black studded booties (got them at TJ Maxx last year).

While I sat in my office, in this outfit, I felt like I was wrapped up in a Snuggie or some other blanket type thing, which was amazing. I highly recommend using a poncho/wrap as an excuse to get cozy in the office.

Check out more pictures below, and as always,  let me know what you think!

This pose was an accident, and reminds me of those info-mercials for gospel music, with everyone's hands raised up to the sky.

  • Spotlight: A Double Take at Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor is a brand known worldwide, and has been an staple for any professional women’s wardrobe – however I never thought of Ann Taylor as my type of style. I imagined Ann Taylor as the place for my mother, my aunt…basically anyone who is middle aged, to shop for tailored, simple work pieces.

However I recently did a double take while browsing through the Ann Taylor website – they have stepped up their game! Faux fur, sequins, sparkles, leopard print, sheer fabrics, feathers & gold are woven throughout their fall & winter collection, and I was very impressed! Also, everything on their website is 30% off right now if you use the code “WINTER30“! Happy shopping

Below are some of my favorites from the Ann Taylor website – and stay tuned for a fabulous giveaway of an Ann Taylor piece!

    Love the sequin shoulder details.

    Leopard Loafer Pumps? Yes please.

Ostrich Feather Tank - LOVE this.

    Gold + snakeskin = Win.

These wedges are chic & edgy at the same time.

  • Too Chic for This City

While I love my city of Seattle, I have to say that the style is far from that of New York City. And after recently visiting NYC, I realized something about NYC girls – they wear whatever the hell they want to. If they want to rock a white dress and stilettos in the middle of fall – they will. If they want to rock a fur coat in the summer – they will. And all rules but one are thrown out – the one rule being that you must look and feel fabulous.

So today, I’ve decided to wear all black (ok, and dark grey) from head to toe – with a pop of pink lipstick. Why? Because its a damn chic outfit. Yep, I just complimented myself – publicly – on my own blog. (Ego, much?)

I feel bad-ass in this outfit, especially when I stepped out of my car this morning with some shades on, and a girl walking by did a 360 degree turn to look at my fit.

Alright, enough making love to myself. Let me tell you about the clothes. Jacket is Michael Kors, top is from Forever21, super high wedge booties are Nine West and the pearl collar is vintage. Bright pink lipstick is from Nars.

The next time you decide to get dressed up – pretend you’re an NYC girl – and wear whatever the hell you want.
